Why use Embroidery on your garments?

The BIG benefits

  • high quality finish
  • durable
  • doesn't deteriorate with washing
  • can be added in any position on virtually any garment
  • versatile

Embroidery is the embellishment of a fabric or garment with a design made up entirely of different stitches sewn by needles. Embroidery produces a high quality finish, which does not deteriorate with washing. It is also possible to embroider onto a garment in virtually any position, making it a very versatile decoration method. Another benefit of embroidery is that the pricing is not affected by the number of colours a design has, so the cost could be the same for a logo with 15 colours as it would be for one with just one colour.

Our modern embroidery plant is capable of producing between 5,000-10,000 garments/week. We accept both hand drawn or digital images, and produce the digitised embroidery ourselves using the latest computer packages, which means that we can transform virtually any graphic into an embroidered product.

Using modern, high-tech machinery, we can sew up to 15 single colours in any one design, on virtually any type of garment including made-up garments, panels, caps/ski-hats, towels, as well as badges and appliques.

To ensure that you are happy with your embroidered logo we will send you a sample in the post for your approval prior to production.

How to care for your clothing.

As all garments are made up from different materials/fibre content, and decorated in different ways, so they are all to be washed and cared for in certain ways.
Please be sure to follow the washing/care instructions in teh garment label EXACTLY to avoid shrinkage, colour run, etc. If you are unsure as to what some of the care symbols mean, please consult our table of translated symbols.
Regarding garment decoration, DO NOT IRON DIRECTLY ON TO PRINT.

What works & doesn't work as a printed garment or as an embroidered garment?

There are several things to bear in mind when choosing to have your garments printed or embroidered:

  1. Size of the logo- With printing, the price is generally not affected by the size of the logo, as once it is set-up, the logo is printed just once, although with embroidery, the larger the logo, the more stitches it has, so the longer it takes, resulting in a higher price. For instance, if you wanted individual names (single colour) on the back of a garment, it is generally cheaper to print rather than embroider them.
  2. Number of Colours- Embroidery prices are generally not affected by the number of colours a logo has, as the set-up process is fully computerised and the production process fully automated. In comparison, traditional screen printing involves the set-up of an individual screen per colour, which adds time to both origination and production preparation, and therefore multiple colours within a design increases cost.
  3. Garment Type- The last thing to think about when choosing whether to print or embroider the garment, is whether that decoration is suitable! Generally, embroidery can be applied to virtually any garment type, although where the material is very thin (i.e. a lightweight t-shirt) the stitches may 'bunch' together, creating a 'puckered' effect (although this is normally true of designs with high stitch densities). Also when embroidering waterproof items, water can enter the area through the holes made by the needles, this can be reduced to some extent (by using waterproofing sealant), although a print would be preferable if possible!
  4. Similarly, printing can be used on most items of clothing, although is obviously suited to some more than others (i.e. loose pile fleeces cannot be satisfactorily printed!)
