Screen Printing
Prior to establishing Actifwear we printed 40,000 garments/week for U.K manufacturers supplying the major store groups. This has provided us with a considerable (20 years) experience in all aspects of quality printing.
Our range of printing techniques includes:
Traditional/Direct Screen printing:
This process involves printing ink directly onto the garment/fabric through a mesh covered aluminium screen. It is then cured or dried by being passed through a heater. There is a separate screen for every individual colour within the design.
Transfer Printing:
This uses the same technique as traditional screen printing, although the different coloured inks are printed onto transfer paper (as opposed to directly onto the garment). Adhesive is then printed behind the layers of ink. The paper transfer is then applied to the garment via a heat press, which fuses the design to the fabric.
DST (Digital Screen Transfer):
DST printing outputs complex/photographic multi-colour designs through a digital printer, onto transfer paper. A screen is then used to print adhesive onto this design. The paper transfer is then applied to the garment as above, via a heat transfer.
