It is now required in a vast amount of businesses where employees are working within an environment in which they need to be highly visible to avoid any potential risk/danger, e.g

This is made possible by a number of reflective strips which are sewn into the garment that reflect the light and can therefore be seen, as long as there is a source of light. Different items of clothing conform to various safety standards Class 1, 2 or 3 depending on the amount and type of reflective material used.
